Il Museo dei tessuti e costumi a Barcellona. Il museo si trova nel palazzo del marchese Lilo. Il palazzo è sempre lo stesso, non ci sono stati cambiamenti fatti alla struttura stessa. Il museo racconta la storia dei tessuti e i costumi dal 1500 in poi enti, rilievi ecc.

Most of the guide books say that this museum closes at 3 pm on Saturdays. I really wanted to visit but did not given the early closing. I wish that the info was consistent. The lines at the I kiosks in Barcelona are long so asking a quick question means lining up for a long time. I guess I'll have to visit on my next trip.

Just to let you know that my students did very well in their GCSE Art/Textiles at the end of their course. They included images from the costumes they had seen into their sketchbooks and found them an inspiration in their own designs! [100% A-C for the whole class! - and it's a Comprehensive School!]

New Oper Costumes

I took a small group of four GCSE Art/Textiles students to the Textile Museum last week. The costumes in the permanent collection were very interesting but the Opera costumes were FANTASTIC!!!
